About JP

jesus pantoja

As a little boy Jesus Pantoja (“JP” as he known to his customers) was interested in clocks. He was constantly taking clocks and watches apart and loved to see how they worked before putting them back together again… When he was a young adult working in a local restaurant a regular customer who was a clock maker offered him a position as an apprentice in his Uncle’s clock repair shop. For 9 consecutive years “JP” learned the business of repairing, restoring clocks and watches of all sizes and shapes; a passion and a job all in one!

Soon after he opened his own one room shop in a small parking lot off of Melrose Place, Los Angeles, California; an area that had high end antique dealers who owned prestige’s antique galleries. This location also lead him to working with Hollywood celebrities. These prominent clients hired him to repair their clocks and soon “JP” had a very loyal following. His services are impeccable and his prices are more than fair. He stood behind his work and they knew he would get the job done.

Soon the little room was too small. Another customer came into his shop one day to have his cuckoo clock repaired. He happened to be the manager of Samuel French bookstore located right next to Bonham’s Butterfield’s auction house on Sunset Blvd. He offered JP a much larger space to rent which was between the bookshop and auction house. Realizing the advantage of being in such a prestigious location JP stepped up his business to the next level which created a thriving business. After a period of working at this location, in 2016 he decided to buy a building on Venice Blvd., one block east of La Brea in Los Angeles. This building offered a larger showroom and repair shop.
